Come and join us to experience an informative orientation on Fort Ancient, its 2,000 year old history, and the people who built this amazing earthwork as an astronomical observatory and ceremonial site. Participants will experience an informative orientation at 1:00 p.m. on Fort Ancient, its 2,000 year old history, and the people who built this amazing earthwork as an astronomical observatory and ceremonial site.

Our goal? To show teachers the opportunities that await them and their school children! The teachers will become the students and Fort Ancient volunteers will be on hand to take you through our wonderful educational program that is designed for grades 2-6 and 6-8. Volunteers will lead teachers through the museum with a grade appropriate scavenger hunt. There will be hands-on opportunities to play the game of double ball, learn to throw a spear with an atlatl (spear thrower), and enjoy our educational interactive room with over 60 artifacts, an 18th century dress up area, drums and rattles, and a wigwam. The day is for teachers, to honor the work that you do.
