Wetlands and other aquatic ecosystems that were once common have all but been eliminated as our lifestyle has dictated major changes in the countryside for agricultural and residential development purposes.  Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, Dave Woehr, will explain the natural function of wetlands, and the problems that have arisen from eliminating them from the landscape.

Dave Woehr is a life-long nature enthusiast who is retired and living in Lebanon, Ohio. In 2009 he was trained to become an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. In his role he has been supportive of nature programs in the area, state, county, and city parks as well as at Fort Ancient. Dave has contributed articles for three years to the Lebanon Local newspaper’s “Nature Close to Home” column. He also provides classroom lectures, and leads outdoor demonstrations and hikes through local habitats in various natural settings.
A specific topic is presented with a power point lecture accompanied by many photos of the subject of inquiry. There is ample time for open active discussions with the participants as well as a question and answer time. These presentations cover a wide range of information on the chosen topic.

Included with regular admission; free for members.
